ESP’s Premier Live CME Webinar

Part 1 – The Heart of the Matter – Saturday, December 12, 2020 – 6 CMEs – $50

Type of CMEs granted – 5 Adult Echo and 1 Fetal Echo SDMS CMEs

This LIVE WEBINAR is tailored to echocardiographers. Echocardiographers will enjoy this LIVE interactive course as leading educators describe current challenges faced in the field. Cases from around the world will be showcased! Speckle Tracking Strain, artifacts, hemodynamics, the Three-Vessel Trachea view, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be covered.

Part 2 – The Wonderful World of Sonography – Sunday, December 13, 2020 – 6 CMEs – $50

Type of CMEs granted – 1 Abdominal, 1 SPI, 1 Vascular, and 3 Other SDMS CMEs

This LIVE WEBINAR is tailored to Sonographers interested in a plethora of ultrasound topics. The sonographer will learn about the eFast exam for Point of Care and its use in trauma as well as how to bridge the gap between the underlying physical principles and their effect on the color Doppler image. There are many clinical differences and associations of chronic venous insufficiency, lymphedema, and lipedema. After this webinar, the learner will have a clear understanding of those differences.  Ever wonder if Artificial Intelligence (AI) will permeate your work environment?  Well, it is here now, starting to creep into your daily activities! Join us as we offer insights into the use of AI in ultrasound. We will also review the basic principles of contrast enhanced sonography (CEUS) and discuss the clinical use in abdominal applications.

CME Schedule (CST)
Part I - Saturday8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (CST)
Part II - Sunday8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (CST)

Part I - Saturday 12/12/20 - The Heart of the Matter

Speaker: David Adams, ACS, RCS, RDCS, FASE

Type of CME granted: 1 Adult Echo SDMS CME

Description: 80% of the world’s population has no access to medical imaging. In many developing countries ultrasound is the only imaging modality available. This lecture will present cases from around the world and highlight the need for more volunteers to travel and teach.

Speaker: Julia Drose, BA, RDMS, RDCS, RVT, FAIUM, FSDMS

Type of CME granted: 1 Fetal Echo SDMS CME

Description: This lecture will review how to acquire a Three-Vessel Trachea view and its usefulness in helping diagnose a variety of structural congenital heart defects in the fetus.

Speaker: David Adams, ACS, RCS, RDCS, FASE

Type of CME granted: 1 Adult Echo SDMS CME

Description: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a key component in diagnostic medical imaging including echocardiography. This talk will cover basic concepts like Deep Learning, AI in image recognition and interpretation. Concerns by sonographers on the impact of AI to their careers will be addressed.

Speaker: David Adams, ACS, RCS, RDCS, FASE

Type of CME granted: 1 Adult Echo SDMS CME

Description: Speckle Tracking Strain is no longer just a research tool. Clinical utility is on the rise and sonographers need to understand how it works. This lecture will cover basic concepts and clinical patterns in the use of Speckle Tracking Strain.

Speaker: David Adams, ACS, RCS, RDCS, FASE

Type of CME granted: 1 Adult Echo SDMS CME

Description: There are artifacts in every ultrasound image. This talk will cover the commonly seen echo artifacts – what causes them and how to, if possible, get rid of them.

Speaker: Richard Palma, BS, ACS, RDCS, RCS, FSDMS, FASE

Type of CME granted: 1 Adult Echo SDMS CME

Descriptions: This course will review the importance of understanding hemodynamics in echo. There will be several interesting cases demonstrated. Emphasizes will be on the importance of understanding hemodynamics.

Part II - Sunday 12/13/20 - The Wonderful World of Sonography

Speaker: Brian J Tollefson, MD, FACEP, RMSK, RDMS, CAQ SPORTS MEDICINE

Type of CME granted: 1 Other SDMS CME

Description: The eFAST exam is a POCUS modality that is commonly used by providers and sonographers in the emergency room to evaluate patients with blunt and penetrating trauma.  The results of the eFAST exam are used to guide real-time clinical decisions in the care of critically injured patients.

Speaker: William Schroedter, BS, RVT, RPhS, FSVU

Type of CME granted: 1 SPI SDMS CME

Description: It is fair to say that the addition of color Doppler imaging to duplex ultrasound was revolutionary. The evaluation of blood flow characteristics is a primary goal in cardiac and vascular applications and in these areas, the use and potential advantages of color Doppler are clear.  It has also impacted and expanded clinical capabilities in nearly every ultrasound specialty. However, to fully utilize this technology in the clinical realm and especially, avoid pitfalls and misinterpretation, the sonographer and interpreter have a basic understanding of color Doppler data acquisition, processing, and display. This presentation will bridge the gap between the underlying physical principles and their effect on the color Doppler image.

Speaker: Steve Bernhardt, RDMS RVT RPhS

Type of CME granted: 1 Vascular Technology SDMS CME

Description: This lecture is to educate the working Vascular Sonographer as to the clinical differences and associations of chronic venous insufficiency, lymphedema, and lipedema.

Speaker: Joyce Grube, MS, RDMS

Type of CME granted: 1 Other SDMS CME

Description: Ever wonder if Artificial Intelligence will permeate your work environment?  Well, it is here now, starting to creep into your daily activities as a sonographer, vascular tech, and echocardiographer. In Artificial Intelligence in Ultrasound Part 1, let us investigate how this has happened and reveal some of the early ways we have already adopted AI in the ultrasound world.

Speaker: Joyce Grube, MS, RDMS

Type of CME granted: 1 Other SDMS CME

Description: As a continuation of Artificial Intelligence in Ultrasound Part 1, Part 2 offers insights into the use of AI in ultrasound across many manufacturers. The exciting new software technology of Koios is introduced that provides a diagnostic summary for breast and thyroid disease. Also, let us identify some of the new trends the ultrasound machine of the future is likely to offer. And don’t worry; it’s not going to take over your job!

Speaker: Cyndi Peterson, MPH, RT, RDMS, RVT

Type of CME granted: 1 Abdominal Sonography SDMS CME

Description:  This lecture will review the basic principles of contrast enhanced sonography (CEUS) and discuss abdominal applications of CEUS. Appearances of common pathologic processes using CEUS will be demonstrated.  Appropriate scanning techniques and instrumentation in abdominal CEUS examinations will be addressed.
