The Point of Care Ultrasound course is a program born out of necessity for high quality education on point of care ultrasound. This program is unique to ESP in that it provides a hands-on environment to learn specific techniques of Point of Care Ultrasound. Proper ultrasound training is required to successfully practice and achieve certification; this course prepares the healthcare professional to be successful in both. The goal of this hands-on program is to prepare the professional to provide accurate diagnosis in a timely manner, stay up-to-date on the latest technology, and establish a duty to exceptional patient care while attaining continuing education credits.
Dr. Tollefson’s twelve-hour course provides outstanding registry preparation and clinical education. It offers participants with a comprehensive introduction to point of care ultrasound. The program is structured based on the Point of Care Ultrasound exam content outline and includes relevant material on trauma, abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT), lung, cardiac, musculoskeletal (MSK), gastrointestinal, obstetrics, hepatobiliary and spleen, renal, and genitourinary.
The teaching environment will be optimal for those seeking quality education as well as board preparation for the Point of Care Fundamentals Certification and Individual Clinical Certificate exams.
